DV-GLUE v1.00
-------------
(c) Copyright 1988 Ralf Brown
DV-GLUE is not now, nor has it ever been in the public domain. All released
versions of it have included a copyright notice.
This collection of subroutines is copyrighted, and may only be redistributed
under the following conditions:
1. The collection is passed on in its entirety, with all copyright
notices intact.
2. If any modifications have been made, they are to be clearly marked
in the source code. ("if you change it, you're responsible for
it"). If you distribute a modified version of DV-GLUE, you must
also make the unmodified original available.
3. No fee is charged for copying. This specifically includes disk
copying services, which must secure written permission and pay a
$100 licensing fee before including DV-GLUE in their collection.
To redistribute otherwise requires written permission from the author,
otherwise the copyright will be violated. See below for electronic contact
addresses.
These subroutines may be used without charge in public domain and
freely-copyable programs. Use in a program for which a fee is charged or for
which donations are requested requires written permission from the author.
In other words, it's free as long as you don't try to make money with it.
Including DV-GLUE in a disk library requires a $100 licensing fee, which will
get you the then-current version and the next two versions as soon as they
become available. Using DV-GLUE in ShareWare or commercial software requires
a ten dollar fee up front, and a registered copy of the software when
available. (Since you're going to be making money off of my work, I want a
(small) slice of the pie!)
If you are writing commercial software, I would strongly suggest that you use
Quarterdeck's API library, as I will not be able to give any support, nor is
my documentation likely to even come close to the thoroughness of
Quarterdeck's.
If you do use this library in a program that gets distributed, please mention
in the documentation that the DESQview interface is courtesy of Ralf Brown.
Also, I would appreciate it if you sent a copy of the program my way.
DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTEE
-----------------------
These routines are distributed as is. It is up to you, the user, to determine
their suitability for your needs and intended uses. Under no circumstances
will the author be held responsible for any damages or loss of data occurring
as the result of the use or misuse of this library. The author's liability
shall in all cases be limited to a refund of what you, the user, paid him for
its use.
Credit Where Credit is Due Department:
--------------------------------------
Some of the routines at the heart of DV-GLUE were originally written by John
Navas and have since been modified/enhanced beyond recognition or totally
rewritten. However, I would probably not have started DV-GLUE if it were not
for John Navas's TVGLUETC.
